Picnic at Jodrell Bank, Macclesfield, Sunday 30th June 2019

Enjoy the (optimistic voice) ‘glorious late-June sunshine’, in the shadow the magnificent Lovell Telescope.

Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, Macclesfield, 11:30, Sunday 30th June 2019.

Host: Rachel Toner

Some locations need no introduction. Jodrell Bank is more than one of the North West’s crown jewels, but a national and international treasure. Beautiful gardens, interactive science displays, and the small matter of the 3200 tonne Lovell radio telescope – once the biggest moveable telescope in the world.

Come along for a relaxed picnic with your fellow Mensans, before exploring this wonderful landmark.

Please note the rearranged date – Rachel has kindly stepped in to host this postponed event.

We’ll meet at the main entrance at 11:30, and head into the gardens (or the café, should the weather betray us) for the picnic first. Please bring enough for your own party – though anything we can all share will be warmly appreciated.

Rachel will be holding up a big Mensa logo, ready to welcome the group.

Should you be joining us, she'd greatly appreciate an RSVP at racheltoner83@hotmail.co.uk to help anticipate numbers and ensure the whole group enters together.

Latecomers remain very welcome, just call Rachel on 07815687795 so you can be united with the group.
